I live in Jacksonville, FL. I helped run Dean's campaign here -- that's how I got into politics. I'm a computer programmer by day and a guitarist by night. Or so I think.

Chat about CT-Sen ON DAILYKOS using Gabbly!

Tue Aug 08, 2006 at 05:59:39 PM PDT

OK, I know I've evangelized this before. But now's the perfect time to chat about the CT Primary in Real-Time without leaving DailyKos.com! And it's easy and free.

Just type www.gabbly.com/dailykos.com in your browser address bar (Firefox is preferred, of course ;) ). You'll have a nifty little window pop up that will allow you to choose a name and chat with everyone viewing Kos at the moment! It works on any site.

Also, go to www.gabbly.com/(site address) and you'll be chatting with your fellow users of "Teh Internets". Try it out! Leave me a comment if you have any problems. Or just grab me in the chat room.

Kos-sers: Easily Chat ON DAILYKOS with Gabbly!

The new AJAX-powered site is pretty cool, especially the "refresh" option which allows us to have pseuo-real-time chats on diaries. But what if there was a way to chat with your fellow Kossacks easily? And you could do it while viewing the site? And it was easy and free? Now there is. Cool!

Just type www.gabbly.com/dailykos.com in your browser address bar (Firefox is preferred, of course ;) ). You'll have a nifty little window pop up that will allow you to choose a name and chat with everyone viewing Kos at the moment! It works on any site. I'm currently chatting on blogforamerica.com and ironmaiden.com (I have such good taste, I know).

Just type in www.gabbly.com/(site address) and you'll be chatting with your fellow users of "Teh Internets". Try it out! Leave me a comment if you have any problems. More tips, including how to embed a chat in your diary, are below the fold. I'll update this diary throughout the night. Or just grab me in the chat room. Hey, wouldn't it be cool to embed a link on the front page? Or maybe we could just roll our own, with some ID-verification. Just a thought.

Does your Web Host condone torture? GoDaddy.com does!

Mon Jun 20, 2005 at 04:30:18 AM PDT

(Disclaimer: This is my first Diary. I hope it's OK!)

I have a website hosted by discount web service provicer http://www.godaddy.com . I went to their homepage today to discover this link at the top:

The main blog's url is simply http://www.bobparsons.com (in case they move that link or something).

I was quite shocked that a large web host such as this one would get involved in politics, especially the politics of lies and torture. He then goes on to appeal mostly on an irrational emotional basis, reminding people of the horrors of 9/11 and implying they justify our presence in the Middle East and tortures at Gitmo. How many more companies are openly promoting torture? This is kinda scary. At one point he rages:

I believe we owe it to those who died on 9-11 and to ourselves to destroy all the bastards and their supporters that were behind those attacks -- regardless of what it takes to do so.

(thanks wazdog)
More of my story, and the full text of his post is in the "extended entry" section.
